Hi, I'm Liz Kirtley.
I’ve been involved in dog rescue since 2013 when I left a career as an Early Years specialist teacher. I have four adopted rescue dogs of my own and have also fostered many dogs over the years with various needs and issues. Since 2016 I have also been one of the Trustee Team at Hounds First Sighthound Rescue with a particular emphasis on providing support on behavioural issues for foster carers and adopters.
I am a Graduate Member of the International School for Canine Psychology and Behaviour (ISCP) - having attained the Level 5 Diploma in Canine Behaviour (with distinction).
To further deepen my knowledge, I am now studying the Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour with the ISCP.
I have also attended various courses and seminars (and continue to do so) provided by other organisations such as Canine Principles and the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) in order to enhance my knowledge and keep up to date with current developments.
I would never claim that any of my own dogs are ‘perfect’. My aim is to do the best I can to help my dogs live their best lives and I would love to help you do that for your dogs too.
My methods are force free and in line with modern science-based theories.
I am a Full Member of the International Companion Animal Network (ICAN) and a Friends Member of the Association of INTODogs.
I am fully insured as a pet trainer/behaviourist and dog walker by Petplan Sanctuary.
